The needs in our community are great, and we don’t work alone. We partner with the following organizations to jointly address the needs of women, children and their families throughout Washtenaw County:
Friends in Deed (FID)
Since 2012, ArborWoman has partnered with Friends in Deed to store and distribute its SleepCare resources (Pack ‘n Play, crib sheet and sleep sack) to clients completing SleepCare Training. Located in Ypsilanti, Friends in Deed also operates a large furniture program that matches donors with needy families throughout Washtenaw County.
Since 2009, ArborWoman and Hope Clinic have partnered together to provide BabyCare emergency resources (diapers, wipes, baby food, and formula) to families throughout Washtenaw County. Walk-ins are taken Thursdays from 2:00 – 4:00 pm—no appointment necessary. Hope Clinic is located in the Hope Center building, 518 Harriet St., Ypsilanti, MI.
Washtenaw Area Council for Children (WACC)
Since 2012, as part of its SleepCare Program, ArborWoman has partnered with WACC to provide its clients and those in greater Washtenaw County with Infant Safe Sleep and Shaken Baby Syndrome Awareness & Prevention education. Classes are held monthly at ArborWoman, 625 E. Liberty, Ann Arbor. Must be registered to attend — call 734.994.8863.
Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office
In March 2016, ArborWoman began partnering with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Street Outreach Team to deliver its SleepCare Program those in our most disadvantaged neighborhoods. Services (education and resources) will help new parents reduce the risk of sudden unexpected infant deaths caused by unsafe sleeping conditions.
